Can I drop-in or do I need a reservation?
Reservations are required. Please book no more than one reservation per day, up to four times a week. If a spot opens up due to a “no-show”, you may be be allowed to take that reservation on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call the front desk to check availability, 15 minutes past the hour.
When is a reservation considered a “no-show”?
If a customer does not check-in within 15 minutes of their reserved time slot, their reservation will be forfeited to guests waiting on standby.
What access will I have during my reservation?
If you reserve in the Bouldering zone, you will be required to stay within that zone. The Bouldering area will be segmented into sections that climbers may go between, but are not to be shared at the same time.
Reservations in the roped climbing area is broken into 2 zones. Climbers may alternate between climbing zones if the capacity allows within another zone.
Fitness areas can be used with either reservation type. Please be considerate of physical distancing guidelines while in the fitness areas.
Can I reserve a time for multiple people in the same time slot?
You may book an individual reservation for yourself and/or a friend, as long as you are all members.
How much time do I get to climb with a reservation?
Reservations are for 2 hour increments. We ask that you are mindful of your time prepping and packing up, as the next round of climbers will be entering the gym on the hour. You may not book back-to-back reservations.
Can I bring non-climbing guests to observe?
Not at this time. We do not have the capacity to allow for non-climbing spectators.
How do I check in/out? And why do I need to check out?
You will be checking-in at the front desk w/ your member card, as normal. We ask that you check-out, so we can keep an accurate pulse on the number of members in the gym at any given time.
Are you taking cash payments?
We are currently only accepting debit and credit cards.
Are the cardio and free-weight areas open?
Yes! Fitness areas can be used with either reservation type. Please be considerate of physical distancing guidelines while in the fitness areas. There may be limited access to cardio equipment.
Are rentals available?
Rental gear is currently unavailable. If you have forgotten your shoes, harness or chalk bag, we will not be able to provide them to you at this time.
When do I need to be wearing a mask? And what qualifies as a mask?
Masks are required while in the facility. Please save medical masks and respirators for health care workers and others in high-risk settings. Cloth masks are recommended. An easy alternative is any breathable, washable fabric, wrapped around your face so that a couple layers of fabric are completely covering your mouth and nose.
How does billing work when you open back up?
Regular dues will begin on 8/16. All-Access Members will pay pro-rated dues upon their first visit to the gym between 8/3 and 8/15.
Seattle All-Access Members: For all members who were automatically frozen by VW upon our closure – If you choose to climb between August 3rd and August 15th, your membership will become active upon your first visit, and you will be charged pro-rated dues. If you do not want to be billed on August 16th you must complete a member change form to freeze or cancel your membership by August 15th.
If you are a Seattle All Access Member that has already submitted a member freeze form, your membership will stay frozen until your first visit back. Frozen memberships will be free of charge until further notice.
Redmond and North All-Access Members: Redmond and North All-Access members will have the same access to the Seattle Gym. You will not be charged until your first visit to the Seattle Gym, or until your home gym location opens. You will be notified with ample time prior to the first billing upon your home gym opening, in the event you wish to continue freezing.
If I’m not ready to come back what do I need to do to keep my membership frozen? And how long will these policies be in place?
For all Seattle members who were automatically frozen by VW upon our closure–if you do not want to be billed on August 16th you must complete a member change form to freeze your membership by August 15th.
If you are an All-Access Member that has already submitted a member freeze form, your membership will stay frozen until your first visit back. Frozen memberships will be free of charge until further notice.
I’m not a member, how can I climb?
Due to the capacity restrictions, we are keeping to current members only.
