A 6 Week Team Climbing Competition

Vertical World Seattle’s Competitive Rope League is here! It’s a six-week, team-based climbing competition designed for every level of climber. Whether you’re looking to push yourself, meet new partners, or compete for glory, this friendly league brings the community together on Thursday nights.

When & Where 

Thursdays 6 – 9 PM @ Vertical World Seattle 

January 15 – February 19, 2026 

Schedule: 

• Jan 15 — Placement Week (required to compete) 
• Jan 22 — Week 2 
• Jan 27 — Week 3 
• Feb 3 — Week 4 
• Feb 10 — Week 5 
• Feb 19 — Finals + After-Party (9 PM – Close) 

Who Can Join 

• Anyone ages 18+ 
• Teams up to 6 people 
• All experience levels welcome (handicaps level the playing field) 
• FREE for Members / $100 for non-members

How It Works 

Compete on both top rope and lead routes throughout the gym. 

Points are awarded for every climb you complete, with bonus points for the newest routes each week. Placement Week establishes handicaps so everyone can compete fairly. 

• Rope climbing only (no bouldering) 
• No substitutions for missing teammates 
• Bring your own rope and assisted braking device for Lead

Prizes & Final Night 

Celebrate the end of the season with: 

• Vendor-sponsored prizes (TBD) 
• Pizza at the After-Party 
• A framed photo of the winning team displayed in the gym
